Petition for Divorce
By Mutual Consent (both have decided to divorce and have reached agreements) from $950
Service Description
At De Law Office, we guide you through your divorce process. The first step is a Virtual Legal Consultation, where we discuss the circumstances of your case, the applicable law, possible courses of action, and the fees for legal representation. To reserve your spot, a non-refundable consultation fee is required. If you retain legal representation, this fee will be credited toward your case fees. Requirements: One of the parties must have resided in Puerto Rico for at least one (1) year prior to filing the divorce petition. In this process, you do not need to explain the reasons that led either spouse to choose divorce. It is also not necessary to allege that one spouse is at fault for the divorce; neither spouse will be considered guilty or innocent. Required Documents: a. Original Marriage Certificate b. Valid Photo ID c. If applicable, Birth Certificates of any minor children born to both parties d. If applicable, evidence of assets and debts to be divided. Services included: 1. Unlimited consultation on the matter. 2. Legal representation throughout the proceedings by an attorney. 3. Court fees. 4. Drafting of the petition, stipulations, and divorce agreements. 5. One hearing. 6. Monitoring of the process from beginning to end. 7. Monthly report or report whenever a new action is filed in the proceedings. Note: Fees start at $950. If there are children in common, the fee is an additional $100 per child. Service of process and swearing-in of the petition are not included in these services. The $950 fee for a divorce based on irreconcilable differences includes only one hearing and the court fee. The fee is for the divorce service only. Additional services within the divorce proceedings incur additional costs. The User and/or Client assumes all legal fees and/or any other expenses that may arise in the course of their case. *This consultation does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Such a relationship will only be established when: any potential conflicts of interest are reviewed and eliminated; a representation agreement is formalized; and you receive confirmation from one of our attorneys regarding the acceptance of the representation agreement, its scope, and your consent.*
